Queuing - British obsession?

The British Obsession with Queuing and a Visit to the Doctor

Now here‘s a funny observation from an Englishman living in Poland and that is the concept of “Queuing”. Or rather, perhaps I should say, to be more precise “not queuing”.

Now for you readers who are not English, or not familiar with the concept of queuing, I had better explain. Back home in the UK queuing is a national sport. In fact if queuing was to become an Olympic sport I think it would be true to say that we would win not only the gold medal but the silver and bronze too. From a very early age you are introduced to the concept of forming a queue and of course just like learning to speak English there are strict rules to follow. Now this is such an interesting subject, especially to foreign people, that I often use it as a topic for teaching English. I find that by showing a particular video it helps my students to understand the British obsession with queuing and also stimulates an interesting conversation.
